Green Weddings

If an environmentally friendly wedding is important to you, there are a wide variety of green

options you can look into for your wedding day. The Old Rectory Country House is one of the first providers in Ireland to attain the EU Flower symbol, which is an European environmental award. We pride ourselves with preserving the beautiful environment we live in. We are a sustainable wedding venue and employ a wide range of green policies and measures. We continually update and add to the environmental practices we implement here at The Old Rectory Country House wedding and events venue.

Sustainable Wedding Tips

  1. Find out what practices your chosen venues have in place in the running of their business.

  2. Could you have your wedding ceremony and reception in the same place so your overall carbon footprint would be reduced.

  3. Use dried flower confetti.

  4. Instead of party favours make a donation to a charity and have a poster letting your guests know.

  5. Have you considered getting your wedding dress from a nearly new site or altering a relatives dress.

  6. For your table arrangements you can use potted plants that can then we sent home with your guests to enjoy.

There are loads more options out there, do some research and decide what would work best for you on your wedding day.
